Update: Lisa B of Knotted Pixie expressed a slight interest in a knitalong for the Irish Hiking Scarf. Anyone else interested?

Finished Mom’s socks! No picies just in case someone decides to find my blog (I know my sis, who still lives at home, sometimes visits via the family computer, so JUST in case). Ok, I still have the ends to weave in on the first sock, but technically they’re finished. AND, they only took me 50 grams of the 100 gram skein, so I have enough yarn to make myself a pair sometime, too. Even better.

I do have a confession to make, however. I’ve decided to drop out of the DNA scarf along. I pulled out the yarn this morning and cast on, knit 7 rows of the seed stitch, took a good long look at the pattern and decided not to knit it right now. I’ve decided instead, to knit the Irish Hiking Scarf. Too bad there’s no knitalong for this one, though. I think my brother will be much happier with this scarf for Christmas, and I won’t have to decipher a chart for the first time. Not to mention the fact, that as I was nearing completion of my mom’s socks last night, Jason mentioned that he bet his mom and sister would love handknit socks for Christmas. So add 2 more projects to my knitting list (although I am already watching some beautiful sock yarn on Ebay that hopefully I can purchase soon, and I may be able to squeeze a small pair of socks for myself out of each of their skeins!).

And speaking of knitalongs, MindfulModeration is starting a Tea Cozy knitalong. I wish I wish I wish I knew someone who could use one of these! No one on my Christmas list drinks much tea, except my sis, and I know she wouldn’t want one. Sigh. The appeal of knitalongs.

I’m trying a new recipe in the crockpot tonight– it’s called Yum-e-setti out of my Fix It and Forget It cookbook. It looks great; hope it tastes as good. I figured I’d pull out the crockpot this week since I’m starting back to work– it’s so convenient. I have a loaf of bread baking in the bread machine as well. I love neato cooking gadgets.
